The Club

Mission and Vision

A handful of ambitious young waterskiers founded the Malibu Show Team e.V. in 1991 as a registered club based in Erlenbach am Main. Today, the club counts 18 skiers, two boat drivers and one announcer.

We are driven by one common passion: Show Skiing. We thrive to share this passion not only in our training but also with the audience when presenting shows at a variety of occasions and events. At the same time, we are a local sport club with the goal to promote the sport of waterskiing amongst our youth and within our communities.

The Equipment

Part of our equipment is a 370HP waterski towboat (Malibu Response Barefoot Edition), two docks as well as an equipment trailer, which allows us to be ready for show skiing at any time and in any place. In our Trailer, we store: Regular skis, pyramid base skis, monoskis, stepoff-skis, swivelskis, shoeskis, trickskis, kneeboards, hydrofoil (Sky-Ski) wakeboard, discs, hooverboard, flyboard, costumes and much more...

In 1991, 1992 and 1993 Malibu Show Team held the European record in skiing around the boat with three skiers.

Pyramid

1997 the team broke the german record for the largest pyramid with twelve skiers in three tiers.

Swivel-Ski

2015 Daniela Schick participated in a world record run in Winterhaven, Florida. She became part of the worlds largest Ballett line, together with 37 other ladies.

Hydrofoiling

2005 the Malibu Show Team discovers the rising trend for hydrofoiling and successfully participated in the first European hydrofoiling contest „King of Foil“ in Obernzell, Germany. In 2007 Sonja Gutting made second place at the King of Foil, Johannes Schrom came in 5th place.

Flaunt it Swivel Competition

2016 Antonia Gutting, Sonja Gutting und Svenja Schneider traveled to Wisconsin, USA to participate in the Flaunt it Swivel Competition. One year later Milena Biker joined our swivel competitors. Together they represented the team at the competition in France.

Yourokup

Show-Ski EM

2017 Malibu Show Team participated in the first European Show Ski Championships in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, France. Christian Bockweg became the „MVP-Male“ of the tournament (most valuable person).

World Show Ski Tournament

In 2018 for the first time, a German national show ski team participated in the world show ski championships in Ontario, Canada. Seven members of the Malibu Show Team represented Germany in the tournament, together with 25 other Show Skiers from other german clubs.

Our Training

For our shows we travel near and far, our training however is held at home: On the Main River near Erlenbach am Main. Here we meet on weekends from May to October at our site by the river, next to the Marina of Erlenbach. This is where we also keep our starting dock.

In our training sessions, all skill levels and ages get together with much joy for the sport and the ambition to constantly improve our show skiing. This is how we form a strong team and come up with spectacular waterski shows.

What we offer

We perform waterski shows for any occasion and any event by the water, in Germany and neighbouring countries. Together with you we come up with a show plan that suits your event and local conditions. A show is usually planned for 30 to 60 min. Multiple shows per day can also be performed. Aside from waterski shows we offer: Flyboard-Shows, Nightshows, Waterski- and Wakeboard-Lessons, Tuberides

What we bring with us

For any event we bring enough skiers to provide you a spectacular show, our tow boat, as well as our equipment trailer.

What we need

In order to get our show in the water at your event, only few things are required:

- Boat slip or crane, to get our boat on water

- An appropriate starting dock or peer for our skiers (a dock may also be provided by us on request)

- if necessary special permits or navigational block (easily obtained from local officials or waterway administrations)
